NOTE : When you subscribe the first time to a mod in steam, you should start/stop the game once (just the game start launcher), to complete download of the mod
This guide will go through a complete Skyrim Special Edition setup used by « Chimere & Harpie clan ». You will have the choice between a full setup step by step, or a packaged one wich provide most of the setup already done.

To have a look to the list of imported mods see section 6 or look at this csv file. Current tested setup with game version (aka runtime version) : 1.5.73.0
If you follow this guide, do not install mods with other mixed methods using mods from Bethasda or from Steam.
1. GAME INSTALLATION
If you have any previously Skyrim Special Edition installation, delete « Documents\my games\Skyrim Special Edition »
Install Skyrim Special Edition from steam outside « C:\Program Files » or « C:\Program Files (x86) » (i.e « C:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition »)
Every mods or tools installed below should be on the same hard drive letter. (i.e « C: »)
Launch Skyrim Special Edition once from steam to generate some default config files and exit
Into steam Skyrim propertiers, « language » tab, choose an audio language. This language is for audio only and do not have to be the same as text language neither matching mod language. We will setup text language later.
Into steam Skyrim propertiers, « Automatic updates » tab make sure it is set as « Only update this game when I launch it ». As we will not launch the game from the standard launcher, there will be no update.
You may also save in a folder « C:\ Modding\save » the files « SkyrimSE.exe » and « SkyrimSELauncher.exe » to try to roll back unwanted update
2. TOOLS INSTALLATION
TOOL : MOD ORGANIZER2 INSTALLATION Mod Organizer will manage mods and launch game
Open SKSE archive file and put every files and folder except « Data » Folder into your game folder (i.e « C:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition »)
Restart Mod organizer so that Mod Organizer detect SKSE
Note : There is a SKSE version for each Game version (game version is the runtime version). Pay attention while updating your game
Copy SKSE archive file from « C:\Modding\skse » to the instance « downloads » folder « C:\ModOrganizer\SkyrimSE_Chimere »
Launch Mod Organizer 2
Install SKSE mod by double clicking on SKSE in download tab, deploy tree folder and right click on « Data » Folder and select as data this folder
Open archive file and put every files into your game folder (i.e « C:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition »)
TWEAK INI
Always close Mod Organizer 2 before using BethINI
Launch BethINI
« Setup tab » : Choose INI Path according to the profile path (« C:\ModOrganizer\SkyrimSE_Chimere\profiles\Base »)
« Basic tab » : Check Resolution and other window options, select one of the presets (Low – Medium – High), disable both VSYNC and Lock Frame Rate, active Recommended tweaks
To manage text language : « Custom tab » choose section « General », setting « sLanguage », write « ENGLISH ». As many mods are in english. Note : Audio language can only be changed by language tab in skyrim settings on steam
Save and exit from « Basic tab »
NEXUS MODS INSTALLATION
Download mods according to the mods selection in section 6 below from https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition, using download button, it will automaticly trigger download into Mod Organizer 2 When not specified any file, you can choose the main file or let the default file to be downloaded
Once ALL mods downloaded, install mods by double clicking files on « download » tabs
Once ALL installed, activate mods by double click on them
On « plugins » tab, click « order » button to automaticly fix loading mods order with LOOT
On « plugins » tab right click and activate all
5. LAUNCH GAME
LAUNCH CHIMERE’s SKYRIM SPECIAL EDITION SETUP
Launch Mod Organizer 2 with instance « SkyrimSE_Chimere »
Choose an available profile
Launch game by selecting SKSE near the « Launch » button
WARN : if you launch game from within steam, it could be updated and you may have to restore saved skyrim binaries because of the incompatibility between SKSE version and game (runime) version. Always check compatibility versions here : http://skse.silverlock.org/
CHANGE GAME SETTINGS
To change some game settings (keyboard, resolution, …) launch BethINI.
In « Setup tab » : Choose INI Path according to the profile path « C:\ModOrganizer\SkyrimSE_Chimere\profiles\Base »
Mod Organizer and BethINI should not be running at the same time, so clone one to use the other.
6. MODS SELECTION

SKILLS Apocalypse – Magic of Skyrim Notes : Can NPCs use these spells? Unfortunately, modifying a large number of NPCs to use the new spells would cause unacceptable compatibility issues. The solution is ASIS, a tool that goes through your load order and generates a mod file that adds spells from each mod to each individual NPC. START SETTINGS Alternate Start – Live Another Life Order notes : Due to the sensitive nature of the mod, it should be loaded relatively late in the load order. A lot of other mods may seek to make modifications to Helgen and the charactergen quests. Moving this further down in your list will likely help, a lot.
